elective courses
Macarthur Girls provides a range of elective courses for students in years 9 and 10. Current practice is that girls select their courses during year 8 and complete these courses as 200 hour courses (4 sessions per timetable cycle) over their stage 5 study period (years 9 & 10). Once selected, classes are formed where sufficient numbers of students have indicated a willingness to study a particular course.
Offering a course does NOT mean that it will commence study for any particular group of students. Courses which are commenced will be those where significant numbers of students have selected the course, and fits within the school staffing allocation.
